A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE

Online Coaching Now Available

As a mindset coach specializing in performing arts, I offer a unique blend of artistic development, career guidance, and personal growth support designed specifically for performers.

In my voice studio, my teaching focuses on the fundamental elements of great singing: breath management, posture, placement, projection, and the crucial element of tension release. I've developed particular expertise in addressing tongue and jaw tension, helping singers maintain an open throat position that allows for free, resonant sound production.

But this technical work isn't just about mechanics - it's about creating the conditions for authentic artistic expression. I believe that the emotional truth of a performance directly affects vocal production, and conversely, solid technique enables more powerful dramatic expression.

Through life coaching sessions specific to mindset, resilience, and self-esteem management, performers can delve into the deeper elements of artistic development – building genuine self-esteem, processing performance experiences constructively, and maintaining healthy emotional boundaries in an often challenging industry. The ultimate goal of our work together is to help you thrive, not just survive, in your chosen field. Through my holistic approach, artists develop deeper self-awareness, more reliable performance skills, and greater career satisfaction. They learn to navigate the challenges of the performing arts industry while maintaining their artistic integrity and personal well-being. Most importantly, they discover how to create work that is both personally meaningful and professionally successful, building a career that can sustain them artistically, emotionally, and financially over the long term.

Create meaningful work while remaining true to your unique artistic vision.

"I have worked with Dallas in many capacities including as a colleague, student, artistic collaborator and as co-members of a non-profit board. I can say that in all of our creative collaborations, I am continually impressed and amazed with his knowledge in all areas of the performing arts, and how his is able to share this invaluable information to serve his students. I amazed how thoroughly he teaches his students about the human voice and how to use their instruments properly. I am even more impressed with how he works with folks on mindset, helping them to find their personal power on stage. I have heard him say over and over that, although technique is important, our beliefs, whether they come from a powerful state of being or from a personal belief system, informs our creative process.

As a performer, voice teacher, performing arts instructor and theatrical director myself who focuses heavily on technique, I have learned so much from working with Dallas that I have been able to bring into my own professional practice. Dallas has taught me over the four years I have had the pleasure of working with him that a limiting belief can shut us down before we even take a breath. His work centers on finding those limiting beliefs in all of us, and working to transform them from the lies we tell ourselves into a more realistic truth about who we really are.

Specifically, one teenager with whom I was teaching voice was so shy you could barley hear him speak when even saying hello. His limitations as a singer were vast, though I worked hard with him to help him find his voice. It was only after a couple of sessions with Dallas that he began to truly come out of his shell. I attended these sessions and witnessed Dallas work his magic, helping this young man to understand that creativity is a wholistic process that begins with the mind. Dallas helped him to realize, for example, that if we carry a lot of tension, it usually means we are controlling. If we are controlling in other areas of our lives, we can try to control our performances, and take them from an organic expression of the self to a place where we are comparing ourselves and our lives to others. This young man is a new person that I don’t even recognize. His parents are beyond thrilled at the new found confidence and joy he eludes.

I have seen Dallas do this with other students when we co-teach, and these performers are now thriving not only in their crafts, but also in their lives. He has helped them to understand the process of releasing resistance to connect with their authentic selves so that they feel free and safe to truly open up in their performing experience and in their life experiences. I couldn’t recommend Dallas more to anyone looking to break through in their careers and in their lives."

"Dallas has been such a blessing for me as a performer. I didn't feel confident enough in myself to really get out there and perform, but he heard me sing when covering for another actor and knew immediately that I had a talent that was worth showcasing, even if I didn't realize it. My confidence wasn't strong enough on my own, but Dallas helped me see that I have every reason to be confident and owe it to myself and to others to present that. From that very first time scouting me up to now, Dallas has had faith in my abilities that has given ME faith in my abilities. He's taught me tools to not only improve my technique, but to also improve how I think about myself when performing, auditioning, and facing challenges in music. That coaching has helped me feel stronger as a singer and actor, helping me have successful auditions and to be offered roles in more projects. I'm extremely grateful to have met and worked with Dallas, and I wouldn't be nearly as confident a performer if it wasn't for his guidance and support."  Nathan Orck (Singer & Actor)

"Dallas has been such a positive light in my performing life for years. When I first came to him, though I had been studying voice for many years, I hadn't tapped into ANY of the potential Dallas helped me access. I have grown exponentially as a vocalist and as a performer under his tutelage, and anyone studying or working with him is so lucky to do so.

I used to be a "Park and Bark" kind of singer but Dallas helped me access emotion and movement in my performance. We discussed what was blocking me from feeling comfortable on stage and he helped me move through some doubts and fears. Truly, in my 15+ years of performing and vocal study, I have never had a better teacher." Hallie Potenza (Singer & Actor)
